Imagine this: a hungry couple is strolling down the promenade in La Manga, phones in hand, looking for a place to eat. They find your website, they love your menu… and then?
Nothing.
No clear way to book a table. No reservation button. No click-to-call. Just a pretty page that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to — turn interest into action.
This isn’t rare. In fact, it’s one of the biggest mistakes I see with restaurant websites across Spain. And if your site is guilty of it, you’re probably losing out on bookings every single day.
The Missing Link: A Clear Call to Action
Most restaurant sites focus on looking good — great photos, lovely colours, maybe even a quirky font or two. But they forget what the site is actually for:
Getting customers to book a table
Getting orders in
Getting people through the door
A beautiful site with no clear call-to-action (CTA) is like a waiter who smiles, hands over a menu, and walks away before taking the order.
Your site needs one clear, easy-to-spot action — like a “Book a Table” button, right at the top, that works flawlessly on mobile.
Mobile-Friendly = Booking-Friendly
Let’s face it, most people aren’t sitting at a desk when they’re deciding where to eat. They’re out, on their phones, searching “best tapas in Cartagena” or “restaurant near me.”
If your website:
- Takes too long to load
- Has tiny buttons
- Makes people pinch and zoom
- Or opens a broken booking calendar…
…they’ll move on to the next place — probably your competitor.
The Fix: Quick Wins You Can Add Today
Here are a few things you can do (or I can help with):
✅ Add an Online Booking Plugin
Tools like ReDi, Amelia, or OpenTable integrations can be set up in under an hour. No more phone tag or missed messages.
✅ Place Your CTA Front and Centre
Your “Book Now” or “Reserve Table” button should be:
- Above the fold on mobile and desktop
- Sticky (always visible while scrolling)
- Contrast-colored so it stands out
✅ Make it Click-to-Call Friendly
Even if you still take bookings by phone, make sure users can call with one tap. Especially older customers or tourists unfamiliar with booking systems
Your Website Is Part of the Dining Experience
Before a fork touches food, your website has already made an impression. A fast, functional, and friendly website is part of your customer service. And unlike a staff member, it works 24/7.
If you’re proud of your food — be proud of the experience you offer before they walk in.
Need a Hand?
If you’re not sure where to start, I help restaurants all over Spain set up websites that actually do the job. That means:
- Mobile-friendly
- Commission-free booking
- Multilingual if you need it
